Lloyd & Faye :: wedding

My final wedding for August was with Lloyd and Faye, starting in Stamford at the All Saints church and then heading down the A1 to the Haycock at Wansford, a tiny, very English village in the Lincolnshire countryside.

Glorious sunshine greeted us in the morning, which unfortunately closed in the afternoon, but not enough to stop the skittles set seeing plenty of activity in the beautiful, private garden.

It was genuinely a huge amount of fun for me being there, one of their child guests even let me try out his camera....I may have to invest in one if fortunes go well!

Head over to our facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gryphon-Photography to have a look at their fantastic guestbook photos where everyone recreated famous movie photos (with varying degrees of success it must be said) - see how many you can guess!!

Big thanks to Clare Richards for helping out....and putting up with lots of ginger jokes.

Claire & Ash :: wedding

I think that the best way to describe yesterday's wedding is....different. I've been doing this for a while now but I've never seen a woman in a beautiful white dress hammering on a bar demanding cheese or practically dancing to avoid the advances of a great dane in a bright orange tie before, but I can now tick them off my bucket list!

Regular readers will remember our happy couple from the moonlit session last year, their big day rolled around and it was everything we could ever have expected and a whole heap more, one of the most fun events I've ever attended, as photographer or guest, there was a lot of genuine fun and laughter to be had....as well as a guest telling me it's about time I settled down with my partner Kady as I'm 27 and not getting any younger!

With that said....on with the photos.....

The first photo I took on the day turned out to be one of my very favourites -

A row of matching and beautiful shoes for the bridesmaids

While Claire had a rather special set all of her own

and a rather lovely necklace

Our Claire likes her bubbles

but she does scrub up rather well

Woody looking at the camera, this was easy, got it first time...I'm just THAT good...didn't take 20 attempts at all.

Claire REALLY likes champagne

rings as shot on a very battered but 'interesting' chinese style table in the venue

first dance and viewers

Oh yes, and a couple of our two lovers

And finally......a big thank you to Clare Richards of Clare Richards Photography for all her help during the day, even if she did desert me to go to Pizza Express...while cruely teasing me about upcoming doughballs and Nutella.

Clare is just starting her professional journey, so if you're on a tight budget and can't quite stretch to a complete photographic genius like myself you could do a lot worse than giving her a call.

Liam // acting headshots

While at the family lifestyle session I also took the time to get some headshots done for Tanya's son Liam who is an aspiring actor - any casting directors viewing this should hire him, he does good smiles on demand!

Tanya // lifestyle

I spent a few hours on easter sunday at Tanya's family get together with the main aim of getting a few photos of her 1 year-old grandson, but the lure of the camera brought a few more people out!

Hope you enjoy them, thanks for looking after me, there'll be many many more to see when I get the private gallery sorted.

Antonios Christopher Paraskeva :: Christening 14/06

After the fantastic wedding on saturday, I was down to Hammersmith on Sunday for my first ever Greek Orthoxdox christening, a "getting to know you" shoot before I photograph the couple's wedding in May next year. I suspect working with Christina and Lee is going to be one of those perfect weddings where I'm given free reign to do pretty much anything I want, and I'm very much looking forward to their e-session as well. What I didn't know before I was given this opportunity is that the Godmather is by far the most important part of the ceremony, it was a unique challenge in what was a very ornate and beautiful location. The pics -

James & Nicola :: 13/06

Saturday's wedding was a local one for me, morning in Spalding, service in Edenham then on to Dyke for the reception.

The day starts at Image International hairdressers in Spalding, credit to them for carrying on smiling as the photographer pays more attention to what the lens is seeing than where he's walking.

The bride's hair is finished -

As the bridesmaid (Donna) tries to put a brave face on someone photographing her halfway through her preparations -

Bride's shoes and bouquet -

Putting the finishing touches to the dress -

The rings -

Mother and father of the groom -

Donna arrives with a flourish -

The ceremony starts and everyone except Nicola and James are privvy to Mick (father of the Groom)'s little prank!

Bridesmaid Katie winds up the Best Man (her brother) in my favourite candid shot of the day

The newly-weds go to sign the register

I'm not sure the couple knew what to think when I started driving them down a quiet little dirt track, but hopefully the choice of location was worth it.

Off-camera lighting for the first dance.

It was a long, hot day for everyone, so big thanks for everyone for being great sports, giving me opportunities for some lovely photos, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the final album.
